Liberty Staffing Policy
This change, effective immediately, is targeted to modify ARTCC policy.
The purpose of this Mandatory Briefing Item is to modify the N90 Liberty Area staffing policy and the delegation of Liberty Catskill airspace.
The following policy amends ZNY-1000 Section 4.2 and the N90 Liberty Area SOP
Background
This MBI amends the staffing policy for the N90 Liberty Area to provide additional flexibility for enroute controllers to offload N90 sectors to appropriately manage workload.
Staffing Policy Changes
- The combined N90 Liberty controller shall provide services to all 5 Liberty Area sectors (including the Catskill sector) unless the Catskill sector is separately staffed.
- The combined N90 Liberty controller shall use the "NY_L_APP" callsign. This will be automatically be configured by CRC and vNAS.
Additional Notes
- The policy for when a controller may separately open the N90 Liberty Area (ZNY-1000 4.2 j) is unchanged.
- The policy for delegation of the Catskill sector to the N90 EWR or N90 LGA area is unchanged.
- The SOP for the Catskill sector is unchanged.
