Letter of Agreement
New York Oceanic (ZWY) & Piarco FIR (TTZP)

- Purpose
- This agreement prescribes transfer of control procedures, radar handoff procedures, route/altitude assignments, and delegation of airspace between New York Oceanic (ZWY) and Piarco FIR (TTZP).
- Scope
- The procedures contained herein must apply unless prior coordination is effected.

- vZNY and any other facilities mentioned in this document are affiliated with the Virtual Air Traffic Simulation (VATSIM) network. The procedures outlined in this document are intended exclusively for use in the VATSIM flight simulation environment and must never be used for actual flight or air traffic control operations. vZNY and any other facility mentioned in this document are not affiliated with the FAA in any manner.
Nomenclature
- ZWY hereafter refers to New York Oceanic.
- A transition fix is a fix inside or at the edge of Piarco airspace that is the last fix in the aircraft route prior to its entry into ZWY airspace, or the first fix in the aircraft route upon its entry into Piarco airspace.
General Procedures
- Traffic entering ZWY from Piarco shall already have received oceanic clearance from Piarco or a preceding controller.
- All handoffs must be initiated no less than 10 nm from the sector border.
- Handoffs between ZWY and Piarco are from non-radar to non-radar airspace. Advise the aircraft to contact the next controller 10 nm prior to passing the boundary fix.
- Traffic bound for TFFR and points west will enter TZP at N18W060 and be instructed to expect direct to either PPR, ANU, or SKB VORs and will cross the sector boundary at or below FL200.
- Traffic bound for points east of TFFR will enter TZP at N18W060 and be instructed to expect direct FOF VOR and will cross the sector boundary at or below FL300.
Routing
- All aircraft entering ZWY airspace must be routed via a charted transition fix.
- All aircraft entering Piarco airspace must be routed via a charted transition fix.
